Project Brief

At Amazon Music x Design at Berkeley's designathon, my team and I were challenged to ideate new ways to increase engagement with Amazon Music, utilizing their current design systems and working rapidly within a short 7-hour timeline.

How might we develop global experiences that create new ways for creators and listeners across all content types to engage with the product?

Problem Statement

Currently, fans lack meaningful ways to directly interact with their favorite creators, limiting deeper engagement and personalized experiences.

Artists, podcast hosts, and authors today struggle to build genuine connections with their audiences due to limited platforms for direct interaction and even language barriers, resulting in missed opportunities for engagement and monetization.

Creators and listeners alike are craving deeper, real-time connection. As livestreaming goes global and Gen Z expects more personal engagement, platforms like Amazon Music have a growing opportunity to meet these evolving expectations.

In the race to personalize algorithms and recommendations, streaming platforms have forgotten to personalize relationships. As music becomes increasingly globalized through streaming platforms and social media, artists and listeners from diverse cultural backgrounds are more connected than ever.

Amazon Music Livestreaming

Amazon Music has a unique opportunity to redefine the fan-to-creator relationship by bringing real-time, interactive livestreaming to music, podcasts, and audiobooks—at a scale only Amazon can deliver. By introducing livestreams, Amazon Music has the opportunity to target global audiences with the unique value proposition of live translations while also benefitting from monetization efforts.
